Legs & Co. – Mah Na Mah Na

Update 18 February 2015: Broken video replaced.

TOTP 12 May 1977: Legs & Co. dance to Piero Umiliani’s Mah Na Mah Na.

From the old blog, Monday 22 November 2010:

Youse guys don’t really need me any more: Ryan ask for this clip a while ago: I didn’t have it, but lulupatti&sue came to the rescue, and sent it in.

Sue gets to arse around in a silly Bigfoot Bumble Bee outfit, while the others dance in only slightly less silly flower costumes, with big petal head-dresses, and a huge kiss curl right in the middle of each girl’s forehead.

Fair warning: before you press the play button, be aware that Piero Umiliani’s Mah Na Mah Na is one of the catchiest tunes of the late twentieth century. Don’t blame me if you’re still humming it tomorrow.

many thanks to lulupatti&sue for the clip.

Guys thank you, thank you, thank you. The sheer brilliance that came from Flick Colbys brain was indeed mind blowing, as proved here. Our 5 flowergirls look extra pretty in this. But what about miss Menhenick, given liscense to just prat about. Love the face she keeps pulling in this. To still look fit dressed like that takes real talent. Ymg, your right about the song though, its very catchy.

From the old blog, Monday, 27 October 2014:

Time for an upgrade for this routine, a strong contender for the superlative epithet “Silliest”: dancing to Piero Umiliani’s infectious Mah Na Mah Na, wearing huge flower petal headgear, and big fake kiss-curls on their foreheads, with Sue superimposed as a cheeky bumblebee.

I think Sue’s happily exuberant performance as the bigfoot bee saves what is otherwise quite a staid routine.

Introduced by Jimmy Savile’s little-known twin brother Percy, who seems to have disappeared entirely from the public eye since Jimmy’s demise.

This BBC4 repeat upgrade replaces an old inferior UK Gold version I posted in 2010, which seem to be no longer working.
